The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017)

The official trailer for The Man Who Invented Christmas tells how Charles Dickens came to write A Christmas Carol. In 1843, after a string of flops, Dickens is short on money and ideas. With only weeks to spare, he decides to write and publish a Christmas story himself, and as he works, his characters come to life around him, led by a cranky old miser named Scrooge who has strong opinions about how the story should go. Dan Stevens plays Dickens and Christopher Plummer plays Scrooge, with Jonathan Pryce as Dickens's father, Morfydd Clark, Justin Edwards, Simon Callow and Miriam Margolyes. Bharat Nalluri directs, adapting Les Standiford's book. Bleecker Street released it in US theaters on November 22, 2017. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
