Phony (2026)

The official trailer for Phony introduces a coming-of-age mystery with a paranoid twist. Sonny, a high school student, wakes up in the hospital after a car accident and discovers that his mom, Ellen, appears to have been replaced by an impostor. She looks like his mother and acts almost like her, but something is just a little off, and nobody else seems to notice. Sonny sets out to find out what happened to his real mom while trying to survive high school. Sam Nivola, of The White Lotus, plays Sonny and Connie Britton plays both versions of Ellen. Nick Paley, a writer on Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, created the half-hour series with co-showrunner Anthony King. Phony premiered on October 20, 2026, on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
