Menace II Society (1993)

The trailer for Menace II Society revisits the Hughes brothers' searing debut about life in Watts, Los Angeles. Caine Lawson has just graduated from high school, but growing up surrounded by drugs, guns and violence, he has few options and little hope. When his volatile best friend O-Dog kills a store owner during a robbery, Caine is drawn deeper into a cycle of crime and retaliation, even as his grandparents, a teacher and his girlfriend Ronnie try to show him another way out. Tyrin Turner plays Caine and Larenz Tate plays O-Dog, with Jada Pinkett as Ronnie, Samuel L. Jackson, Charles S. Dutton, Bill Duke and MC Eiht. Albert and Allen Hughes direct their first feature at age 21. New Line released it on May 26, 1993. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
