Krisha (2015)

The Krisha official trailer is for Trey Edward Shults' 2015 debut feature, a tense family drama set over a single Thanksgiving. Krisha, a woman in her sixties, shows up at her sister's Texas home for the holiday after years away, determined to prove she has changed by cooking the turkey for everyone. As the day goes on, old wounds open and her struggles with addiction resurface. Krisha Fairchild, Shults' real-life aunt, plays the lead, and much of the cast is made up of his family. The film won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at SXSW, and Shults went on to make It Comes at Night and Waves. A24 released it.
