Boogie Nights (1997)

The Boogie Nights trailer introduces Paul Thomas Anderson's breakout ensemble film set in the San Fernando Valley of the 1970s and early 1980s. Mark Wahlberg plays Eddie Adams, a young nightclub dishwasher who is discovered by adult filmmaker Jack Horner, played by Burt Reynolds, and reinvents himself as the star Dirk Diggler. Julianne Moore, Heather Graham, John C. Reilly, Don Cheadle, William H. Macy and Philip Seymour Hoffman play the makeshift family around them. The story follows Dirk's rise through the industry's glory days and his fall in the excess of the 1980s. Anderson wrote, directed and co-produced, expanding his own earlier short film. The trailer is all disco energy, long tracking shots and wild costumes. It is funny, sad and made for adults only.
