Years later, when Robert becomes U.S. ambassador to Great Britain, terrible things start happening around the boy, beginning with his nanny's shocking death at his fifth birthday party. A frightened priest and a photographer, played by David Warner, warn Thorn that Damien is the son of the devil. Jerry Goldsmith's chanting score won an Oscar.
