Rocky IV (1985)

The trailer for Rocky IV revisits the most Cold War-fueled chapter of the Rocky saga. Ivan Drago, a towering Soviet boxer built through state-of-the-art training, arrives in America for an exhibition match against Apollo Creed, and the bout ends in tragedy. Seeking revenge and honor, Rocky Balboa agrees to fight Drago in Moscow on Christmas Day. While Drago trains with high-tech machines, Rocky prepares in the snowy Russian countryside by chopping wood, hauling logs and running up mountains. Sylvester Stallone writes, directs and stars, with Dolph Lundgren as Drago, Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers and Brigitte Nielsen. MGM and United Artists released it on November 27, 1985. A recut version, Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago, followed in 2021. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
