Primetime Preacher$ (2026)

The Primetime Preacher$ trailer is for a Netflix documentary from director Joe Berlinger about the rise and fall of 1980s televangelism. Insiders tell how three of the most powerful TV preachers of the era, Jim Bakker, Jerry Falwell and Jimmy Swaggart, built huge followings and fortunes by selling salvation through television screens. Then greed, sex scandals and big egos brought their empires crashing down in some of the most public falls of the decade. The film uses archive footage and new interviews to show how it happened and who got hurt along the way. Berlinger is known for true-crime work such as Conversations with a Killer. Jason Bateman is among the producers. It premieres on Netflix on Friday, November 20, 2026.
