Poltergeist (1982)

The trailer for Poltergeist revisits the suburban ghost story that terrified a generation. The Freeling family lives a happy life in a new California housing development, until strange things start happening around their youngest daughter, Carol Anne, who talks to the television static. At first the spirits seem playful, but they soon turn violent, and one stormy night Carol Anne vanishes into another dimension. Her parents call in parapsychologists and a tiny, eccentric medium to bring her back. JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson play the parents, with Heather O'Rourke as Carol Anne, Beatrice Straight, Zelda Rubinstein, Dominique Dunne and Oliver Robins. Tobe Hooper directs, and Steven Spielberg co-wrote and produced. MGM released it on June 4, 1982. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
