Highway Horror (2026)

The Highway Horror teaser trailer promotes a Criterion Channel streaming collection of road movies that go wrong. Road films usually treat the open highway as a symbol of freedom, but these flip that idea, with wrong turns, chance meetings on empty roads and road rage that turn into fights for survival. The lineup includes Steven Spielberg's Duel and The Hitcher, about killers behind the wheel, Alone, about a deadly detour into the wilderness, and the occult chiller Race with the Devil, along with The Appointment and And Soon the Darkness from 1970. The collection streams on the Criterion Channel as part of its October 2026 Halloween programming, so a subscription is needed to watch.
