Coming to the Criterion Channel in August (2026)

The teaser trailer for the Criterion Channel's August 2026 lineup previews a month of new programming on the streaming service. The highlights include a series of rock-and-roll biopics that are, in Criterion's words, actually good; a selection of Southern Gothic sagas full of heat, secrets and decay; and four psychedelic journeys through the sun-scorched American Southwest. Two 1970s Hollywood classics also join the service, along with a new episode of the Channel's original series Adventures in Moviegoing, in which artists talk about the films that shaped them. The teaser is a fast-paced montage of clips from across the month's collections. All of it streams on the Criterion Channel, which offers a free trial for new subscribers.
