Child's Play (1988)

The trailer for Child's Play introduces Chucky, the doll who became a horror icon. As he is dying from a police officer's bullet, the serial killer Charles Lee Ray uses a voodoo ritual to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll. Not long after, single mother Karen Barclay buys the doll as a birthday present for her six-year-old son Andy. When people around Andy start dying, nobody believes him when he says Chucky did it. Catherine Hicks plays Karen and Alex Vincent plays Andy, with Chris Sarandon as Detective Mike Norris and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. Tom Holland, director of Fright Night, directs from a story by Don Mancini. MGM/UA released it on November 9, 1988. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
