Carrie (1976)

The trailer for Carrie revisits Brian De Palma's chilling adaptation of Stephen King's first novel. Carrie White is a shy, lonely high school senior who is bullied by her classmates and dominated at home by her fanatically religious mother. As she begins to discover that she has telekinetic powers, a cruel prank is set in motion for the night of the senior prom, and the consequences are unforgettable. Sissy Spacek plays Carrie and Piper Laurie plays her mother, and both earned Academy Award nominations. Amy Irving, William Katt, Nancy Allen, Betty Buckley and a young John Travolta also star. De Palma directs from a script by Lawrence D. Cohen. United Artists released it on November 3, 1976. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
