3:32Almost Famous (2000)
The trailer for Almost Famous revisits Cameron Crowe's warm, semi-autobiographical ode to rock and roll. In 1973, 15-year-old William Miller, an aspiring music journalist from San Diego, lands an assignment from Rolling Stone to go on tour with Stillwater, a rising rock band. On the road he befriends the charismatic guitarist Russell Hammond and Penny Lane, a free-spirited fan who calls herself a Band Aid, while his protective mother worries at home and his mentor, critic Lester Bangs, warns him not to become friends with the band. Patrick Fugit plays William, with Billy Crudup, Kate Hudson in an Oscar-nominated role, Frances McDormand, Jason Lee, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Zooey Deschanel and Anna Paquin. Crowe writes and directs, and he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. DreamWorks released it in September 2000. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
