Smokey and the Bandit (1977)

The trailer for Smokey and the Bandit revisits the good-old-boy road comedy that made Burt Reynolds the biggest star of the 1970s. A wealthy Texan bets the legendary trucker Bo "Bandit" Darville that he cannot haul 400 cases of Coors beer from Texarkana to Atlanta in 28 hours, back when the beer could not legally be sold east of Texas. Bandit takes the bet, driving a black Trans Am as a decoy while his partner Cledus hauls the beer. Along the way he picks up a runaway bride, Carrie, and her furious would-be father-in-law, Sheriff Buford T. Justice, gives chase. Reynolds stars, with Sally Field, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. Former stuntman Hal Needham directs. Universal released it on May 27, 1977. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
