Sixteen Candles (1984)

The Sixteen Candles trailer is for John Hughes' 1984 teen comedy, his first film as director. Samantha Baker, played by Molly Ringwald, wakes up on her 16th birthday expecting a big day, and her entire family forgets about it, because her older sister is getting married the next day. Things only get worse at school, where Sam has a hopeless crush on Jake Ryan, the dreamy senior played by Michael Schoeffling, and her secret survey answer about him ends up in the wrong hands. Meanwhile, a geeky freshman played by Anthony Michael Hall won't stop trying to win her over. It all leads to one very long night at a party. John Cusack and Joan Cusack appear. It is available on Blu-ray and digital.
