Police Academy (1984)

The trailer for Police Academy revisits the slapstick comedy that launched a seven-film franchise. When a new mayor drops every requirement for joining the police force, the academy is flooded with misfits: a troublemaker who is there instead of going to jail, a gun-crazy recruit, a soft-spoken florist, a gentle giant and a human sound-effects machine. Led by wisecracking Carey Mahoney, the cadets face off against the sadistic Lieutenant Harris, who is determined to make them quit, while the absent-minded Commandant Lassard barely notices what is going on. Steve Guttenberg plays Mahoney, with Kim Cattrall, G.W. Bailey, Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow, David Graf, Marion Ramsey and George Gaynes. Hugh Wilson directs. Warner Bros. released it on March 23, 1984. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
