Moonstruck (1987)

The Moonstruck trailer is for Norman Jewison's 1987 romantic comedy set in Brooklyn's Italian-American community. Loretta Castorini, played by Cher, is a widowed bookkeeper who has accepted a safe, loveless proposal from the dull Johnny Cammareri, played by Danny Aiello. While Johnny flies to Sicily to visit his dying mother, he asks Loretta to invite his estranged younger brother, Ronny, to the wedding. Ronny, a passionate, one-handed baker played by Nicolas Cage, turns out to be the opposite of his brother, and he and Loretta fall wildly in love under a big full moon. Olympia Dukakis plays Loretta's sharp mother. Cher and Dukakis both won Oscars, and John Patrick Shanley won for the screenplay. It is available on Blu-ray and digital.
