Mamma Mia! (2008)

The trailer for Mamma Mia! revisits the sunny ABBA musical set on a Greek island. Sophie, 20, is about to marry, and she wants her father to walk her down the aisle. The problem is she does not know who he is. After reading her mother Donna's old diary, she secretly invites the three men who might be her dad to the wedding at the family's taverna, and chaos, romance and a lot of ABBA songs follow. Meryl Streep plays Donna and Amanda Seyfried plays Sophie, with Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård as the possible fathers, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski and Dominic Cooper. Phyllida Lloyd, who directed the stage musical, directs. Universal released it on July 18, 2008, and a sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, followed in 2018. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
