Klaus (2019)

The official trailer for Klaus introduces a new origin story for Santa Claus. Jesper, the spoiled son of a postal tycoon, is sent to the frozen island town of Smeerensburg and told to post 6,000 letters in a year or lose his fortune. The town is locked in an ancient family feud, and nobody writes letters. Then Jesper meets Klaus, a reclusive toymaker, and their unlikely friendship starts to warm the whole town. Jason Schwartzman voices Jesper and J.K. Simmons voices Klaus, with Rashida Jones and Joan Cusack. Sergio Pablos, a co-creator of Despicable Me, directs in a hand-drawn style with modern lighting. The film earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature. Klaus premiered on November 15, 2019, and streams only on Netflix.
