Friday (1995)

The Friday trailer is for F. Gary Gray's 1995 comedy, co-written by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh. Craig Jones, played by Ice Cube, has just been fired from his job on his day off, and now he has nothing to do but sit on the front porch of his family's house in South Central Los Angeles with his talkative best friend, Smokey, played by Chris Tucker. Smokey is a small-time dealer who owes $200 to a dangerous supplier, Big Worm, and the two have until 10 p.m. to come up with the money. Over one long day, they deal with nosy neighbors, a local bully named Deebo, Craig's strict parents and a girl Craig likes. John Witherspoon plays Craig's dad, and Nia Long and Bernie Mac co-star. It is full of quotable lines and launched a franchise. It is available on Blu-ray and digital.
