Crime And Punishment IN Suburbia (2026)

The official trailer for Crime and Punishment in Suburbia revisits a darkly romantic 2000 thriller that updates Dostoevsky's novel for modern American suburbia. Roseanne Skolnik is a popular high school cheerleader whose life looks perfect from the outside. At home, though, her family is falling apart, and after a terrible betrayal she and her boyfriend commit a murder. As guilt eats away at her, Roseanne finds an unlikely connection with Vincent, a quiet outsider who has been watching her from a distance. Monica Keena plays Roseanne and Vincent Kartheiser plays Vincent, with Ellen Barkin, Michael Ironside and Jeffrey Wright. Rob Schmidt directs. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released by MGM's United Artists in 2000. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
