Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)

The trailer for Close Encounters of the Third Kind revisits Steven Spielberg's awe-filled vision of first contact. After a UFO sighting on a dark Indiana road, electrical lineman Roy Neary becomes obsessed with a shape he cannot get out of his head. He is not alone: a single mother whose young son was taken is chasing the same vision, while a team of scientists led by a French researcher follows strange signals around the world. Their paths lead to Devils Tower in Wyoming and an encounter with something extraordinary. Richard Dreyfuss plays Roy, with François Truffaut, Teri Garr, Melinda Dillon, Cary Guffey and Bob Balaban. Spielberg writes and directs, with John Williams's famous five-note theme. Columbia released it on November 16, 1977. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
