American Psycho (2000)

The trailer for American Psycho revisits Mary Harron's darkly satirical adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's novel. In 1987 Manhattan, Patrick Bateman is a wealthy, handsome investment banker obsessed with his appearance, fine restaurants and the design of his business cards. Behind the perfect image, he is a serial killer whose violent urges grow harder to contain, and as a detective begins asking questions about a missing colleague, Bateman's grip on reality starts to slip. Christian Bale plays Bateman, with Willem Dafoe as the detective, Jared Leto, Reese Witherspoon, Samantha Mathis, Chloë Sevigny, Justin Theroux and Josh Lucas. Harron directs and co-wrote the script with Guinevere Turner. Lions Gate released it on April 14, 2000. It is rated R for strong violence and is available to rent or buy digitally.
