Above the Below (2026)

The Above the Below official trailer shows a survival story that starts in space and ends somewhere much stranger. Three astronauts live through a disaster in orbit, but their unplanned crash landing leaves them trapped in a hostile place, and getting home becomes the real mission. Idris Elba stars and co-directs with Martin Owen, with Caitlin FitzGerald and Hero Fiennes Tiffin alongside him. Elba previously directed the feature Yardie, so this is his second time behind the camera on a film, and his first in this genre. Lionsgate releases Above the Below only in theaters on December 4, 2026. It is a survival thriller built around people cut off from any help.
