A Christmas Story (1983)

The trailer for A Christmas Story revisits the holiday classic that generations of families watch every December. In 1940s Indiana, nine-year-old Ralphie Parker wants only one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. Every adult he asks, from his mother to his teacher to a department-store Santa, tells him the same thing: you'll shoot your eye out. Along the way come a leg lamp, a frozen flagpole and a bar of soap. Peter Billingsley plays Ralphie, with Melinda Dillon and Darren McGavin as his parents, Ian Petrella, Scott Schwartz and Zack Ward. Bob Clark directs, adapting the stories of Jean Shepherd, who also narrates as the adult Ralphie. MGM released the film in theaters on November 18, 1983. It is available to rent or buy digitally.
