Pokémon: Wild Card (2026)

The teaser trailer for Pokémon: Wild Card announces the franchise's first new animated feature since Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle in 2020. This time the story is built around the Pokémon Trading Card Game: it follows a young TCG player and his partner Pokémon, Mimikyu, the shy ghost who hides under a homemade Pikachu disguise. The teaser offers a first glimpse of the film's look and the bond between the boy and his unusual partner. Katsuhiko Kitada directs, with character designs by Akemi Hayashi; Story Inc. produces and CloverWorks, the studio behind Spy x Family, handles the animation. The film was unveiled at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships and is set for theaters in 2027, with no exact date yet.
