The Man with the Bag Trailer: Schwarzenegger's Santa Plans a Heist
Prime Video's full trailer pairs Arnold Schwarzenegger's Santa with Alan Ritchson's thief ahead of the film's December 2 premiere.
Prime Video posted the official trailer for The Man with the Bag on Monday morning, and the short version is this: Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Santa Claus, and the movie streams on Prime Video starting December 2.
The setup is a Christmas heist. A rogue elf, played by Awkwafina, steals Santa's red bag of presents. With the holiday on the line, Santa goes looking for help in the one place no one expects him to look: his own Naughty List. The name near the top belongs to a thief played by Alan Ritchson, and the trailer builds its fun around the two of them trying to steal the bag back.
The casting is the hook. Schwarzenegger has played a desperate dad hunting for a toy in Jingle All the Way, but this time he is the man in the suit. Ritchson, best known as the lead of Reacher, swaps the drifter's fists for a career criminal's toolkit and becomes the reluctant partner Santa has to trust.
Adam Shankman directs. The ensemble around the two leads includes Berkeley James, Michael Cyril Creighton, Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney, Jane Krakowski and Ken Jeong. Amazon MGM Studios is behind the film, which skips theaters and goes straight to the streaming service.
This is the second look at the movie. A teaser arrived at the end of September and introduced the premise; Monday's longer cut runs about two and a half minutes and spends more time on the heist itself and the odd-couple partnership at its center.
Where to watch: The Man with the Bag premieres Wednesday, December 2, exclusively on Prime Video. The full trailer is on this page now.
