Criminal Trailer: Charlie Hunnam Crime Series Hits Prime Video Jan. 13
Prime Video's adaptation of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips's graphic novels arrives in two four-episode parts, starting January 13, 2027.
Criminal premieres on Prime Video on Wednesday, January 13, 2027, when all four episodes of Part One, titled "Coward," drop at once. Part Two, "Lawless," follows two weeks later on January 27, finishing the eight-episode season.
Prime Video released the teaser trailer on November 5. The series adapts the multi-Eisner Award-winning graphic novels by writer Ed Brubaker and artist Sean Phillips.
Charlie Hunnam leads as Leo Patterson, a man trying to fight his way out of crime. Gus Halper plays his friend Ricky Lawless, who is set on following his father's outlaw path. Luke Evans is Ricky's older brother, Tracy Lawless, an Army veteran whose return home drags the family's history back into the open. Adria Arjona plays Greta Watson and Emilia Clarke plays Mallory. Richard Jenkins, Kadeem Hardison and Logan Browning are also in the cast.
The two parts split the story the way the books do. In "Coward," Leo and Ricky are forced to confront a murder from their childhood and a heist that goes wrong. In "Lawless," Tracy comes back from military service as Ricky gets in too deep with the wrong people.
Brubaker didn't hand the material off. He wrote the pilot and runs the show alongside novelist and screenwriter Jordan Harper. Brubaker and Phillips are executive producers, along with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the filmmaking team behind Captain Marvel. Amazon MGM Studios and Legendary Television produce.
Releasing four episodes at a time also gives each half its own premiere night: Leo's story opens the season, and Tracy's homecoming carries the second half.
